Zanzibar

 Zanzibar is an archipelago off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa, comprising the main islands of Unguja (commonly referred to as Zanzibar Island) and Pemba, along with numerous smaller islets scattered across the azure waters of the Indian Ocean. This semi-autonomous region of Tanzania combines stunning natural beauty with a rich, complex history that has shaped one of the most culturally diverse destinations in Africa. The very name "Zanzibar" conjures images of exotic spices, dhow sailboats gliding across crystal-clear waters, pristine white-sand beaches fringed with swaying palm trees, and the labyrinthine alleyways of Stone Town where the past whispers from every weathered coral stone wall. Located approximately 25-50 kilometers off the Tanzanian mainland coast, Zanzibar occupies a strategic position that has made it a crossroads of civilizations for over a millennium. The archipelago spans roughly 2,461 square kilometers, with Unguja Island covering about 1,666 square kilometers and serving as the tourism and administrative hub where most visitors spend their time.
